Nitin

Principal PostgreSQL DBA · 14+ years in database administration

I keep business-critical PostgreSQL databases fast, safe and always available, mostly for financial-services and large enterprise platforms.

What I work on

• High availability: Patroni, pgpool, streaming replication and automatic failover
• Backup & recovery: pgBackRest, Barman and point-in-time recovery
• Migrations to PostgreSQL, including from Oracle, with tools such as pgcopydb
• PostgreSQL on AWS (EC2, EBS) and in the cloud
• Monitoring & automation: Grafana, Prometheus and Datadog
• L3 production support: solving the hardest incidents under pressure

Background: started as an Oracle DBA (10g–12c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN) before moving to PostgreSQL.

Certifications: certified PostgreSQL professional, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP 11g) and ITIL Foundation.

At ConfidentHire Academy I teach PostgreSQL Database Administration, built around real production scenarios.
